Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and French Studies at Smith College. She earned a Master’s in Social Welfare and a Master’s in International & Area Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. Katie is also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Professional Interests

Katie enjoys working collaboratively with students to address the issues that are most important to them, helping them to recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and reach their goals.  In addition to college counseling, Katie has experience working in community mental health and criminal justice settings.  She enjoys working with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, substance use, grief and loss, family of origin issues, and self-care.  Katie’s work is trauma-informed that includes cognitive-behavioral, strengths-based, and somatic experience approaches.  

Personal Interests

Katie enjoys swimming, reading, puzzles, road trips and international travel, the beauty of the ocean and the great outdoors, collecting seashells and rocks, spending time with family (including canines), and friends.
