Dr. Deo earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Scripps College and her Master's and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University at Albany, State University of New York. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of Arizona.

Role at CAPS

As CAPS ADHD Clinic coordinator, Dr. Deo conducts ADHD evaluations in addition to providing individual counseling and group facilitation. She currently serves as co-chair of the CHS Diversity and Inclusion committee and the CAPS Social Justice Steering Committee.

Professional Interests

Dr. Deo has a variety of clinical interests, including depression and anxiety alone or in conjunction with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental concerns, grief and loss, issues relating to family and peer relationships, and the navigation of LGBTQIA+ and racial/ethnic identities. She takes an integrative approach to treatment, combining a cognitive-behavioral foundation with skills from a range of other modalities based on each individual's needs. Her work is also strongly informed by motivational interviewing, guided by a collaborative spirit and deep respect for students' autonomy.

Personal Interests

Dr. Deo is an avid reader of sci-fi and fantasy; when she's not working towards her annual goal on Goodreads, she also enjoys riding horses, testing new dessert recipes, and playing with a local drum ensemble.
