Treatment Approach
Professional Interests
Nai takes an eclectic approach to counseling, combining Feminist, Existential, Adlerian, and person-centered theoretical frameworks. In their work, they focus on social justice, advocacy, and abolition. Their primary focus is working within their own intersecting communities to provide access and care. They work as a sex therapist in private practice centering on mental health, gender identity, and sexual orientation as main presenting concerns (both individually and in couples counseling). They also work with chronically ill, disabled, and neurodivergent populations, expanding on mental health, sexual health, enduring ableism, and grief work. This also includes a deep passion and interest in creating accessibility and adaptive spaces in which all people can exist. Nai is completing their PhD in clinical sexology, which will include their CST (Certified Sex Therapist) certification. They have taught the following seminars: How Well Do You Know? Trans Affirming Care: Intersectionality and Inclusion; Queerness and Grief: an Intersectional and Integral Approach; Sensation Play 101; What is LGBTQIA2S+ Anyways? An Intro to Human Sexualities/Orientations and Identities; Working with Clients with Disabilities; and Exploring Sexual and Relational Spectrums: Navigating Development, Orientations, Kink, Desire, and Relationship Structures. Other topics of interest include: relationship structures (ethical non-monogamy), non-violent communication/reflective and active listening skills/training, grief, trauma, intersectional identities, societal impacts on wellness, and self-discovery/acceptance.
