What is a Mental Health Crisis?

A mental health crisis occurs when intense emotional distress or behavioral instability puts someone at risk of hurting themselves or others or otherwise prevents them from caring for themselves. Whether you're a student seeking immediate support or are concerned about a student, we can help you figure out your next steps.

Campus & Community Resources

Sometimes, the best plan is outside of CAPS. This can happen for a number of reasons, like insurance needs, the kind of services a student is looking for, or what would be the best match for a student's concerns and goals. When that's the case, we'll help you identify people to call to get started. Meet with a care coordinator for a free Resource & Referral appointment or talk with your CAPS provider about your options.
