  • A resource and drop-in center for students. Located on the 4th floor of the Student Union, Room 404.

  • Provides a LGBTQ+ listserv and events. Send an email to asuapride@gmail.com to be added to the listserv.

Gender Inclusive Facilities

Housing and Residential Life Gender Inclusive Housing

  • Housing & Residential Life offers Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) in cluster communities that provide a safe and supportive living space for transgender, gender non-conforming, and questioning students. GIH provides a supportive and inclusive living environment where a student can room with any other student, regardless of sex, gender, gender/identity expression, or sexual orientation.

  • Anyone who has witnessed, knows about, or has experienced discrimination, harassment, including sexual harassment or other sex or gender-based discrimination, violence or harassment is encouraged to seek support and report concerns.

Coming out is not a one-time event, but is a life-long process for the LGBTQIA2S+ community. When, how, and to whom to come out is a personal decision, and there is no right or wrong way to do so. The links below provide helpful information about the coming out process.

Immigration and Legal Support

Transgender Veterans Support Group  

  • Southern AZ Veterans Administration holds a weekly group for all who identify as transgender at any stage of transition. Must be VA-enrolled.

Southern Arizona Gender Alliance Support Groups 

Housing & Safe Spaces for LGBTQ+ Youth

  • Bread & Roses - Crisis Transitional Housing for Homeless LGBTQ+ Youth ages 18-24 

  • Thompson House of Tucson - Connects houseless trans and gender non-conforming young people (ages 18-24) with host homes for up to a year.

  • Thornhill Center on 4th - A SAAF place for LGBTQ+ and allied youth ages 13-24 to visit in order to access a variety of services to support their health and well-being.

COLAGE 

  • COLAGE is a national organization dedicated to supporting people with one or more LGBTQ+ caregivers.  

Family Acceptance Project 

  • The Family Acceptance Project is an initiative that uses a research-based, culturally grounded approach to help ethnically, racially and religiously diverse families learn to support their LGBTQ children and to prevent health and mental health risks for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer-identified (LGBTQ) children and youth. 

My Kid is Gay 

  • This website that includes videos, advice, and resources, dedicated exclusively toward helping parents understand their Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual children including information regarding religious support.  

PFLAG 

  • PFLAG is an organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their parents and families, and allies.
